Richard Barrall at the Autumn craft fair in Lawford

Posted by Kylie on Wednesday 16th September 2015

Richard Barrall will be exhibiting his art cards at Lawford this weekend that are created from his drawings of local scenes, here’s what Richard has to say…

“My name is Richard, I’m 31, I love to draw and have done since I was a young lad. After my father passed in 2008 my mother gave me the idea of making cards from my drawings. I am still relatively new to the craft scene and am constantly working on new designs. I try to keep my creations unique by seeing how other crafters present their creations, this helps drives my imagination and keep my ideas fresh.”

‘Beekay Handcrafted cards’ will be at Lawford this weekend

Posted by Kylie on Tuesday 15th September 2015

Here’s an introduction to ‘Beekay Handcrafted cards’…

‘My name is Barbara and I create handcrafted greetings cards using a fusion of crafting methods gained from paper crafting and from floristry. I like to make die cut shapes to create my own paper embellishments especially flowers to create a 3 D effect rather than a flat card.

Each card is unique, it is actually hard to make two exactly the same!  It’s not all pretty flower cards so the men don’t need to feel left out.

I shall have for sale a selection of square 15x15cm cards for all occasions. I shall also have some different shaped cards such as a Window Box Card which is styled like a window box with flowers that don’t need watering and will last much longer!  One of my most popular style of cards is a 3D Box Card which folds flat for posting and then opens up to reveal a box full of surprise!

Themes of box cards available will include floral, gardening, party, baking, fashion, new baby.   All weddings are special and a box card helps mark the occasion. I have wedding box cards to purchase or you can order one with the couple’s names and date of wedding. It’s never too early, I have started on 2016!

I can take any personalised orders at this event for any occasion and will have a photo book that shows some of my previous orders. There are also many more to see on my website to give you an idea of the unique cards I can create just for you.’

‘Woollen Pleasure’ will be exhibiting at Lawford

Posted by Kylie on Friday 11th September 2015

We are pleased to have ‘Woollen Pleasure’ at our Autumn craft fair next weekend in Lawford.  Here’s a little about them…

“Knitting is my favourite pastime.  Over the time I knitted so many items that I needed to find a suitable home for them.  I found out about Craft Uk and became a stallholder.  I also have an online shop with Etsy, my shop name is WOOLLEN PLEASURE.

I knit mainly scarves but also baby wear and bespoke dog wear, I love ruffle knitting because the wool is so colourful.  I get most of my wool from Germany. When I knit I forget my homesickness and feel happy.  Making other people happy with my items gives me pleasure.

Recently, I started to make cross stitch and tapestry pictures.  I am a German national and have lived by now half of my life in England, I am married and have three teenage children.  Otherwise I work as a supply teacher, tutor and lecturer where I teach languages.”
