Carol Creasey will be exhibiting at Lavenham on the 11th November 2017

Carol Creasey…

I  come from Kent,  and have a holiday home in Suffolk, which I visit frequently. I have been an author for 24 years, and my first book was inspired by my son, who was born with autism and many health problems. He was not expected to live beyond 5, but proved the doctors wrong. When  he reached 21, I wrote the book partly to celebrate his courage, and also to help other families faced with a similar situation. It is entitled  MY LIFE IS WORTH LIVING!, even after all these years, it’s my top selling book. Then  I decided to try  novels, my latest being  THE POWER OF LOVE.  which it set in the 1960s. All my books are good  quality hardback, with innovative covers thanks to my very discerning publisher. They retail at £17.95, but I sell them for what I pay myself, at a price of £9.99, and I will sign them as well.

The Crafty Miller…

“I’ve always been creative having had a nan who knitted a Grandma who stitched and a mum who managed to amaze me by knocking up fancy dress ideas and alteration at the last minute on the same machine for fifty years…… With just a straight stitch!
So about five years ago I made my first quilt for a baby shower gift and it was a real pleasure to gift something handmade so decided to share that with others and give them the opportunity to own or give something individual and sewn with love in every stitch.”

Mike Howlett  ‘Suffolk Shots’…

I’ve spent 25 years as a lighting-cameraman in film and television production then became an IT network engineer in a major London hospital when film work started to dry up in the late 1990s. Home and overseas film shoots were always so tightly scheduled that he was never able to indulge in ‘urban’ landscape photography – his particular interest – until he retired to Suffolk in 2010. So, a late developer then, which explains the diverse nature of the images in his collection. He’s still looking for his photographic ‘voice’, the equivalent of his personal style as a cameraman, and also looking for a publisher for his book on photo-editing. Normally modest, he does however admit to having a fair eye for a picture, and now also a growing portfolio of imaginative pictures of Suffolk and elsewhere. Enjoys world cinema, music, shouting at politicians on the telly, and following Ansel Adams maxim that “you don’t just take a picture, you make it.”
