Arty Alis…

“I started weaving last summer and enjoyed it so much I can’t imagine not weaving for at least a few hours a week now. I studied fashion design for fours years after leaving school and more recently gained a degree in Fine Art graduating in 2008, so it’s not surprising I’ve been drawn to textile based art but there’s something very therapeutic about sitting quietly at my loom that I love and it feels like the start of a journey to me as I know I’ve still got lots to learn about technique. This will be my first craft fair with my weaving work and I’m looking forward to finding out what response my work will get from the public.

I can be found on Instagram and Facebook as ArtyAlis and my work is on sale on Etsy.com/shop/artyalis”

Weavings range from £25 – £35

Bunnywiffler Designs…

“From small acorns grow mighty oak trees!

With an early interest in sewing and making my own clothes as a teenager, Bunnywiffler Designs has organically grown out of a lifetime of dressmaking and craftwork.  I love to source Japanese and vintage fabric, alongside a passion for upcycling material that can be used again to make homewares that can be enjoyed every day.  Forever curious, I incorporate new elements into my sewing work; this year’s interests are working with plant dyed fabric and needle felting.  From cafetiere covers and keyrings to cushions and reusable shopping bags there is something for everyone in the Bunnywiffler range.

I relish a challenge so if you have an idea in mind why not commission yourself a unique one-off piece?”

Julia Dalley…

“a bit about myself, well I was born in Sudbury Suffolk, at St Leonards Hospital 50 yrs ago, so not a spring chicken 🙂 .  I have two grown up children who live with me, 6 rabbits 5 cats and a puppy who is 7 months old, yes I’m a glutton for punishment lol.

I enjoy gardening and obviously my pets and children, I would be board if I hadn’t got them around me.  I worked as a carer for 4 years and enjoyed my work looking after the elderly and dementure residents, sadly it took hold of me so I had to give it up, I go back on occasions and take my two mini lops in for the residents to make a fuss of which they love.

Obviously with time on my hands I took to my crafting, I got an A plus, when I left Sudbury upper school in 1984 in art.  I’m no professional and only do it as a hobby, but people have commented on my work and have often asked if I have ever thought about selling it. I call my hobby, WEIRD AND RUSTIC GOTHIC CRAFT, because its always done there and then when I get an idea or design come to my head.  All my work is rustic made but also with care and thought.

I do almost anything that come to mind, I did some masquerade face masks last year.  My craft keeps the mind in order, as there is so much to think about. I enjoy what I do, gladly this and another sold at a fete at the place I worked, so I am hoping the craft fair in April will start off the inspiration, and inspire people that my work is a one off and there will never be another and its different.

Here are some pictures of the most recent items I have done.”

“I’ve always loved candles and decided to start making them a couple of years ago – it started as a hobby and is now a small business. I love experimenting with different fragrances and always have my candles and wax melts burning at home!”
