Summer craft market, this Saturday at Sudbury

Posted by Kylie Sparkes on Wednesday 15th July 2020

Finally, with everything crossed, we are planned to go ahead with our first event of the year, the Summer craft market at Sudbury.  This event will feel alittle different to our usual events but will still be full of beautiful handmade crafts.  Here are a few of our exhibitors…

Claire Hayes…

A little bit about me…“ My name is Claire, and ever since I can remember I loved making things! I am a mother of 3, my youngest has recently started school so I now feel able to delve into my passion for crafting full time. My favourite keepsake to make are box frames, these can be personalised if requested. I also put designs on coasters, tea-light holders and small plaques I hand make greeting cards too. I look forward to seeing everyone at the craft market! “

Curvy’s Creations…

“Hey, my name is Catherine. I am the crafter behind curvys creations. I got into resin a few weeks before lockdown started and there is no going back. I have learned a lot through resin and I started with the small items like keyrings and jewellery then moved on to coasters wall decor and signs.  Crafting with resin helps to keep my mind active. I suffer ptsd and making resin keeps my mind calm and keeps my side effects at a minimum. Can’t wait to see you all at the craft market.”

Carly’s Homefronts…

“I’m an embroiderer and I make key fobs, badges, framable pieces, and recently, masks. I’ve made over 3000 of them since the COVID-19 lockdown began and I’ve donated as many as possible to medical professionals and key workers.  I’d say my focus is anything fun! A little magic, a little silly, a lot sarcastic… I try not to take myself too seriously.”

Baarmy Crafts…

“I started making my handmade cards for family members two years ago and, after receiving such a great response, decided to try my hand at a couple of Christmas craft fairs…I now not only make cards for any occasion, but hand folded paper bunting, paper posies and hanging decorations. I love working with paper and pride myself on individuality and quality.”

Creations from my shed…

“Since studying silver-smithing (2000 – 2004), I have been quietly working on creations from my shed ever since, at weekends and in the evenings.  In the last year I have started to sell at craft fairs and it is great when someone wants to buy something you have created.  Sterling silver and beaded jewellery is my first love, but I have also dabbled in copper foil stained glass, mosaics and some leather work.  These need some fine tuning before being launched on my stall.    Here are some samples of what will be available.”

Peter Herridge…

” I have a passion for wood, the colour, texture and the way nature and time creates it own images. My photography often reflects these images and when I work with a piece, I try and keep it is as natural as possible, using wax and oils to bring out the beauty of the wood. Much of the material used is reclaimed and upcycled, alongside driftwood found along my local seafront. I can be found on Facebook, Flickr, Etsy and craftfairuk.”

I have attached some pictures of the work I will be selling.
