The Eco Witch Co…

“My name is Charlotte Hayden and I am the owner of The Eco Witch Co. and maker of all the creations you see for sale in the shop. I have spent the past three years studying Fine Art at University and graduated this July from Norwich University of the Arts. Despite spending many years of my art practice painting, I have long desired to come away from the “fine art” world and return to crafting. The Eco Witch Co. was born from a simple idea to create intention candles in an as environmentally and ecologically considerate way as possible through materials and methods. I offer candles in jars that are either carefully sourced by myself or reused from food containers, I use soy wax, essential oils and herbal blends which I sprinkle on top of the candles – each variety with a different mix of herbs to correspond to the candles intention. The candles are finished with a jute fabric lid – a biodegradable material – which your candle can sit on whilst burning to protect your surface, and either herbs or a clay charm to add a little decoration! Aside from making candles, I also love sculpting and have done so for many years. In creating The Eco Witch Co. I have incorporated this passion into the shop through my clay-sculpted jewelry and home decorations, and I will be selling my Yule tree decorations and reusable gift tags at this month’s Christmas fair at Wickham Bishops. “

L & MAC Jewellery…

“I actually started L&MAC. back in early 2017 but actually never knew it. I wanted some sterling silver anklets that would suit my style and chubby ankles! I had always found normal size anklets were never quite big enough plus I could never find exactly what I was looking for!  I started to look around for wholesale beads/charms/stringing and how to make my dream anklets, I was inspired by layered bangles, bohemian chic styles but plain and simple – so after finding some good wholesalers away I went and made my own anklets. I made 4 for myself; 2 for each ankle! In the summer of 2018 I wore my anklets and have never taken them off since – I had so many compliments and people ask me where I get them from and when I told people I made them they often would ask if I could do bracelets too and so I decided to give it ago and make bracelets,  they became so popular between family and friends that I decided to open an Instagram page and along came the birth of L&MAC.

All my jewellery is great quality sterling silver, with super strong stretch elastic. I add a small rose gold tag to my bracelets for a little touch of colour but I do stock sterling silver tags if you like matching!  The prices range from £18 – £30 depending on the charm required & all my jewellery comes neatly wrapped and boxed and popped inside a lovely ribboned bag. “

Maverick Fabrics…

“I started my company in April 2018 so it’s still very much in its infancy. I created my Etsy store, almost on an impulse to push myself to making it a reality rather than something I kept saying I was going to do. It was very nerve-racking and I assumed it wouldn’t go anywhere but after I had made some sales I was fuelled by the fact people did indeed like what I did and appreciated my care and effort. Everything I make is inspired by wildlife and nature. I do my absolute best to keep them eco friendly, some of which are specifically designed around zero plastic and zero waste values. Most of my Macramé and Twine creations are dyed naturally with plants. I recently left my role in a temporary position at a warehouse, to fully work on putting full effort into creating and to accumulate a decent supply to start attending craft fairs where I can expand my business and better yet see people face to face where I can discuss my craft and aims with like-minded people who hopefully enjoy my work. My company isn’t just a business to me, it’s a representation of my ethos and my character, when I make a sale it’s not about money but about someone else also enjoying nature inspired items, I find that very exciting.”

Ambient Crafts…

“We are a couple of friends who used to work together (Debbie McKenzie & Carol Flanders) & decided we would get together to try doing some crafting & eventually decided to see if anyone would be interested in buying what we had made so that’s how Ambient Crafts came to be.  We continue to evolve with what we do but thoroughly enjoy the process.”
